Fun Updates
Got up this morning at 7 and wandered into the shower. My sunburn still hurts to all hell. I don't wear the straps on my bra so I'm sure it looks funny. Left for the Cardiovascular place at 7:45. Traffic gave me a hard time. Usually I can make it down there in less then 30 min. but I got stopped at every light and then had to find a parking spot. I'm glad all my tests were right at the Rose Medical Center (except the National Jewish, but it was down the street). Makes it a TON easier then having to go all over!
On my way down I got a call from a clinic I had called yesterday to set up an appointment to redo my blood tests. Their tests were going to be quite expensive so the guy recommended going to one of the actual labs. He gave me two phone numbers.
I went in and got the echo - good stuff. It's SO weird looking at your heart via an ultrasound! I kept thinking "holy crap...that's beating inside me right now...and every second of the day - what if it stopped?" lol... I can only imagine what it feels like when you're looking at your baby that way. I only paid $100 today and need to call their credit people to talk about a discount hopefully on the rest of the echo. If not, it's going to be about $800!
After the echo I sat in my car and called the two labs. The first one couldn't give me an exact amount because on one test they needed to know more since they had different kinds. They were pretty cheap so I called Dr. Snyder's office to see if they could give me more info on that test. I got the voicemail. So then I called the other lab. They were more expensive, but gave me the info for every test I needed. I asked the guy where they had an office and he asked where I was. I was going to tell him my home address, but I'm glad I said I was sitting in the Rose Medical parking lot because they just happened to have an office at Rose Medical!
I wandered over there and sat around waiting my turn. When the lady called me up I gave her all my info and mentioned that I had already had the blood work done at SmartCare and that they had closed their offices and I never received my results. The lady was like "SmartCare sends their stuff to LabCorp." It just so happened that LapCorp was where I was at. She got on the phone and called the main office to see if my results were there. They said they faxed them over to Dr. Snyder on 6/20 (got them on 6/19) but Snyder hadn't received them. So they are resending them! WHOO! That was $350 I just saved! Thank goodness I chose the more expensive place and just happened to mention I had already done the blood draw!
So excited! This just means that I have my nutrition class tomorrow and then have to wait for all the Pulmonary stuff to show up and I should be able to schedule! They only do surgery on Mondays so it will probably be the 21st or the 28th! YAY!
