X-Rays and Breathing tests!
Oh my! ...or something...
I had to get up at 7AM this morning in order to be at National Jewish by 8:10, tho I'm not sure why that was. They said I needed to be there 30 minutes early, but for what I still don't know! I didn't fill anything out. All I had to do was check in and sit there.
The chest x-ray took maybe 1 minute to do. Then I had to go wait to get my breathing test done. And let me tell you - most uncomfortable chairs ever! My butt is too big. :P
The breathing test was interesting. You have a clip that plugs your nose and you wrap your lips around this tube that resembles a snorkling unit. Then you do some normal breathing, followed by letting out all the air, then one big fast inhale and then a fast exhale. Had to do that a couple (6) times. The second test was sort of the same, but they want to see how the oxygen travels through your blood stream and body so they add 3% nitrogen. So you breath normal, then let it all out and then inhale as fast as possible and hold it for 6 seconds, then let it all out. The inhale is what got me with that nitrogen. It left a burning sensation in the back of your throat and lungs. On a fun side, mom's company supplies them with their nitrogen and stuff. :) Was fun seeing their logo.
Wednesday is my first consultation with Dr. Snyder. The 9th is my echocardiogram, but I'm going to ask the doctor first if he for sure wants one before actually getting it done. It's expensive :P
Only other test I have is the sleeping test and then a 2 hour nutrition class. Hopefully from there it'll be fast getting scheduled!
