The Final Countdown
That song popped into my head randomly and I thought it was a perfect title for this blog!
Today I start my liquid diet! YIKES!
Only liquids I can see through along with sugar free jell-o and popsicles. So today and tomorrow I shall be drinking nothing but water, sugar free Kool Aid, chicken and beef broth, and eating jell-o and popsicles! Whoopy!
Oh and taking laxatives........
Boo to that!
My mind is on overload. I tried to keep sleeping at 8 this morning, but my mind kept thinking about surgery and liquid diets and getting everything together. So I had to get up and make lists. I haven't actually made those lists yet, but I shall! And I'll probably pack my hospital bag and prepare everything for when I return home. Organization is key! I'm such a nerd.
I bought a book yesterday, for the first time in FOREVER, to read at the hospital. Not sure if I'll get into it so I'm going to also buy the first in the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyers. It's getting rave reviews by my friends and is being turned into a movie at the end of the year. Figure I should hop on the wagon.
Mom comes into town tomorrow evening. We have to get up at 4AM! I have to shower with this iodine stuff Sunday night and Monday morning. Traffic should be a breeze at 5AM so I don't think we need to leave any earlier.
Definitely kind of nervous, but excited at the same time. I just found out several of our 2nd or 3rd cousins from Wisconsin are coming for Jesse's wedding - they were my grandfather's cousins so whatever number that makes them. We haven't seen them in forever and they're really fun! I'm excited to hopefully have lost quite a bit of weight by then! And then in October, Mom and I are off to Cancun! That will definitely be trying food wise, but I'm sure Mom will keep me on the straight and narrow! I have weddings next year and by then I should have all the excess weight gone! WHOO!
The only thing I'm slightly worried about, but think that taking care of it now will help me in the long run, is vitamin deficiency. I know a surgeon isn't a nutritionist and his vitamin guideline is just that, a starting point, so having an online support group has been great! I am able to get lists of what everyone else takes and see what not taking them can do to people. I just need to figure out where to get the ones I need cheaply. I suppose if we were ever to have a huge world natural disaster I'd be eff'd without my vitamins - lol.
YAY! I'm excited!!
Again, my surgery is Monday at 7:30 AM! So if any or all of you wouldn't mind saying a little prayer I would greatly appreciate it :)
